Creative/Partner, 2008scandinavia, Oslo One of the most awarded scandinavian creative directors and creatives ever, including the Grand Prix in Cannes Lions (2002 – Oslo Piercing Studio – Outdoor), Grand Prix at Eurobest (2001 – Scandinavian Airlines – Outdoor) and a bunch of Lions, Golds, Silvers, Bronzes from every award show worth mentioning. Erik was the Executive Creative Director at Leo Burnett Oslo, before starting up his own little hot shop, Shnel & Melnychuck, and starting up the communication collective 2008scandinavia together with his old Chief Creative Officer from the Burnett days, Ã¿istein Borge. Erik has judged The New York Festivals, London Advertising Awards, Eurobest (twice), D&AD (twice), and Clio Awards.
Senior Writer, TAXI Toronto Gary was born in Zimbabwe, grew up in Botswana and has lived most of his life in South Africa – but is a citizen of Australia. When people ask him where he’s from, he says: “When a man and a lady love each other very much they give each other a special kind of hug…” He is a Capricorn, which means he’s “patient”, “responsible” and “conscientious”, although he’d rather be “rich”, “fluent in Klingon” and “deadly with ninja stars”. In South Africa, he worked at TBWA Hunt Lascaris and Net#work BBDO before deciding to move to Canada to join Taxi Toronto. He won two silvers at this year’s Clios has been in D&AD six of the last seven years.
The Jupiter Drawing Room, Cape Town I started my career in JHB in 1995. My fastest growth creatively was at TBWA Hunt Lascaris, where I was inspired by people like Tony Granger, Erik Vervoegen, Sue Anderson and John Hunt. For a change in scenery I decided to go to Dubai for a couple of years where I managed to win the regions first Cannes Gold. IÏ€m now in Cape Town working with Jono at The Jupiter Drawing Room, where I’ve worked on clients like Hyundai, The One Club NY and Gabriel shocks.
The Jupiter Drawing Room, Cape Town I started out at a small Cape Town agency called King James where I was lucky enough to get work on big international brands like Levi’s, MINI and Johnnie Walker. After picking up a couple of awards and watching the agency double and almost triple in size in just a few years, I moved on to the Jupiter Drawing Room, where I currently work with Jamie.
WT Paris I graduated in literature, and I got a clarinet diploma. So I started late with advertising as a freelance. Then I was hired in JWT Milan and lived there from 1999 to 2003. There I also met my actual art director, Giovanni Settesoldi. In 2003 we moved together to D’Adda, Lorenzini, Vigorelli, BBDO and stayed there till early 2005. Since then we moved to JWT Paris, and so far it’s good to be here.
Since Martin Beauvais joined zig as Executive Creative Director, the agency has earned countless international accolades at Cannes, The One Show, The ADCC, the ADC and The Marketing Awards. He’s led award-winning campaigns for IKEA, Best Buy and Pfizer. One of the only Francophone ECD’s in Toronto, following stints at BBDO and Taxi in Montreal, Martin has been named the best bilingual creative in Canada by Strategy magazine and included as one of the 100 Most Important People in Marketing Communications in Canada by Marketing magazine. His work has been featured in everything from industry publications to Playboy and Penthouse, and some pieces are permanent fixtures in design museums in Europe, Canada and Japan. A designer at heart, Martin has passionately advocated the benefits of solid design work throughout his career.
ECD, DDB Sydney Richard Selbourne wrote his first ad for Volkswagen at Doyle Dane Bernbach in 1986. He moved to Collett Dickenson Pearce in 1988 where he wrote ads for Barclaycard, Benson and Hedges and the Bahamas Tourist Board. He moved to Euro RSCG in 1993 where he wrote ads for Peugeot, Avirex Jackets and Abbey National. In 1995, he formed the Selbourne and Belcham Creative Independent and wrote ads for anyone who was willing to pay for them. In 2000, he joined Leo Burnett, where he wrote ads for McDonaldÃ s, P & O Cruises, KelloggÃ s and Fiat. In 2005, he flew out to DDB Sydney to be a Creative Director. Over twenty years, RichardÃ s career has brought him money, fast cars, expensive clothes and exotic holidays. Yes, heÃ s advertised them all.
Signe Bahrt, Art Director, Denmark Signe is a Danish art director, working freelance. She has formerly worked at Danish agencies Wibroe, Duckert & Partners and Hjaltelin, Stahl & Co, as well as a short stay in a Vietnamese agency in Saigon. She has won a variety of awards in Cannes (2), Eurobest (2), New York Festivals (2), Danish Internet Award (4) and Danish award shows Creative Circle Award, Aurora and Direct Marketing Day. Signe is primarily engaged in new/cross media campaigns.
Tolga CD, Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann, Vienna. Tolga was born and raised in Istanbul. After his graphic design study, he worked for Publicis and McCann Erickson in Istanbul. Then he moved to work for Redcell in Vienna. Yet another intermezzo in Istanbul and a Bronze Lion, he joined DraftFCB in Vienna. One year later the agency was ranked number 1 in the Austrian creative ranking and with his work made it into the precious Gunn Report. Same year, he was also ranked number 2 in Lürzer’s Archive ranking worldwide. He is now working for Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann. With over 90 national and international awards and two “Best of Shows”, Tolga is doubtlessly one of the highest adorned creatives in Austria.
